Horse Riding Holidays
Whether horse riding for the weekend or for a week's holiday, you will experience beautiful scenery on carefully selected tracks and trails. Raygill Riding Holidays have been formulated to give you highly focused riding experience with lots of fun and special memories for years to come.
The holidays are aimed at all levels. You can even bring your own horse as stabling is available. If you don't own a horse you will be designated with your very own from one of Raygill's 60 ponies and horses. Just think, a horse of your very own for a whole week, a rare treat.
You will be amazed at how your riding abilities progress after a Raygill Riding holiday.

Setting The Scene

Raygill Riding Centre is in Lartington, a pretty little village about three miles west of Barnard Castle. The village itself was recorded in the Domesday Book and is steeped in history. It shelters behind a wood to its north. To the south of the village lies Lartington Hall with its surrounding parkland which was built during the reign of Charles I. Much of the village was built as an estate village for the hall and indeed Raygill Farm was originally it's threshing mill.
Today the village contains attractive houses, many stand around the village green which is shaded by trees. This area was a traditional village green in medieval times and was later planted with Great Wellingtonia. Dams were built in order to create a village pond.
